ADA Welcomes New Members

New Faces in ADA.
The Association of Drama Adjudicators is delighted to announce that five new members have joined its ranks. A call for new adjudicators saw in excess of fifty applications from theatre practitioners. Shortlisted candidates were interviewed and where successful were then brought forward to a live adjudication which was assessed by a panel of ADA members. We were delighted to have Anne O’Reilly, Treasurer of the ADCI present and her observations were warmly received by the assessment panel. We are so pleased to welcome,
Pauline Byrne who will be familiar to many groups as she has been adjudicating for ten years on the circuit. Pauline had been invited earlier in the year to join ADA. She holds an MA in Drama from UCD. She has directed, produced and acted in productions both in Ireland and Canada. She brings with her a wealth of practical and academic experience.
Michael Mc Cabe is a graduate of Ecole Internationale Jacques Lecoq and the Gaiety School of Acting. His work as an actor has seen him appear for Corcadorca, Graffitti Theatre Company, Iomha Illdanach, Barabbas Theatre and at The Abbey Theatre. Michael is particularly interested in how the body can be used as a primary form of expression.
Ciarán Mc Cauley will be well known to fans of Blue Raincoat Theatre Company. Ciarán has trained at the Ecole de Mime Dramatique, London with Corrine Soum and Steve Wasson and at the Saratoga International Theatre Institute, New York with Anne Bogart. He has appeared in most of the company’s work at home and abroad.
Tony Mc Cleane Fay obtained a post-graduate degree in Performance Studies from Middlesex University in 1996 and an MA in Drama & Theatre Studies from UCC in 2004 and is currently studying for his PhD. Recent directing credits include; Revolt – Samuel Beckett Theatre, Dublin (2016), A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Cork Midsummer Festival (2016), Hamlet for Granary (2016), Missing – Wexford Arts Centre (2016).
Lee Wilson holds an MFA in directing from the Lir, The National Academy of Dramatic Art. Recently he directed the critically production of East Of Berlin by Hannah Moscovitch at the Project Arts Centre. Currently he is developing the world premiere of an Irish Musical – The Sea Brothers. Lee holds both Canadian and Irish citizenship.
