Geoff O’Keeffe directs William Shakespeare’s Hamlet for Mill Productions
Hamlet | William Shakespeare
“Though this be madness, yet there is method in ’t”
A murdered King. A guilty uncle. A shallow mother. The young Prince who has lost all sense of certainty, whose very sanity is threatened by an obsessive search for truth in the detritus of a world that has changed utterly.
After the critical success of Macbeth, Othello and King Lear, Mill Productions are proud to present Shakespeare’s masterpiece, in an edited version of the original text and directed by Geoff O’Keeffe in a fast paced, insightful and highly accessible production. Following his critically acclaimed role as the Fool in King Lear, Shane O’Regan returns to play the title role and supported by a talented ensemble of professional actors, including Neill Fleming, Damien Devaney, Stephen O’Leary, Matthew O’Brien, Clara Harte, and Claire O’Donovan.
With its potent mixture of treachery, murder, ghostly visitations and intrigue, this production reminds us in the 400th anniversary year of Shakespeare’s death, why Hamlet remains a colossus of world theatre.
